This course is aimed at familiarizing Data and Business professionals with the basic concepts of statistical analysis and methods used for data-driven decision-making.
After completing this course, you will be able to apply descriptive and inferential analysis methods, use data visualization methods to communicate data, apply concepts of probability in real-life scenarios, and apply regression techniques to predict trends.
The course takes a hands-on approach to statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel and uses examples to illustrate the concepts to help you gain the foundational knowledge of statistical techniques needed to solve business intelligence (BI) problems.
A hands-on project will provide you an opportunity to apply the concepts to a real-life scenario involving data-driven decision-making and an understanding of basic statistical thinking and reasoning.
This course is suitable for professionals or students who aspire to embark on a career in the BI or Data Analytics fields by equipping them with the crucial skills and knowledge in statistical analysis. It is expected that learners be familiar with Excel/spreadsheet basics and high school mathematics prior to starting this course.

This course felt clunky. The concepts, which were really big ones for statistics and analysis, were covered quickly, really without good explanations - but were tested in detail. I think the material covered was thin in places and really only focused on the excel functions to use. The only reason I passed this course without struggle was my classes during my masters program. After grading the other final projects, I think this rating is right on. Most people failed the projects I graded. It feels like this class needs a content review.

The final project grades you off of things it doesn't ask you for. For example, it asks you "Did you create this pivot table?" It's a yes or no question. But if you didn't take a screenshot and add it to the textbox, it's graded as incorrect, even though nothing said "please include a screenshot." There are also typos, and it is clearly copied and pasted from the practice project because the independent variables are incorrectly named. Overall not a well written class.

The course is a poorly assembled mishmash of slides from other courses, AI narrated videos and labs with significant mistakes in them. If you confuse the terms "statistic" and "distribution" or if you confuse the t-statistic for a probability, you may need to retake Stats 101 instead of teaching it.
