We are presently facing a potential extinction crisis for the order Primates (and many other life forms). In this course we will learn about threats to primate conservation globally. We will be using the, “Primates in Peril: The World’s 25 Most Endangered Primates 2018-2020” by Schwitzer et al. (2019) as a basis for the discussion of global primate populations. We will investigate conservation status, threats to conservations, success and failures within protecting our closest evolutionary cousins.

Course is valuable in promoting the concept of species conservation and assessing the state of conservation.
This course wasn't very clear in explaining most of the information and you are not allowed to submit your assignments without paying for a certificet which is very bad and it means you cannot finish this course , overall this was not good at all.
This is a great course for anyone interested in primates. It gives you an overview of some of the primate taxons and the threats they're facing so there's something for everyone. The instructor is easy to follow and the topics are interesting.

I found the course extremely interesting: from the exploration of the various primates around the globe and the study of the problems that put their conservation at risk, to the practical solutions on various levels: science professionals, social policies and things each of us can do in everyday life. I recommend this course to everyone: get involved in primate conservation, there's hope and it's fun!

I wanted to absolutely adore this, but the test questions are vague and would benefit from directions like, “select all that apply”. The last peer review assignment is just awful. It takes weeks to get a grade back and when you do there is zero feedback even if you followed all the directions to a “t” and went above and beyond. The course itself is just a lecture placed over black slides with white lettering, and that doesn’t change throughout. If you’re here because you loved other primate lectures on Coursera, heed my warning… this is NOT the same!
