As I embark on my journey towards a Bachelor's in Sport Management, I recently completed a 5-week course titled "The Olympic Games and the Media" by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This course provided an insightful introduction to the communication and management techniques behind the world’s largest sporting event—the Olympic Games.
I’m incredibly grateful to Professor Emilio Fernández Peña, whose expertise made this my first international course dedicated to Sport Management. Throughout the course, we explored key topics such as: The cultural significance of the Olympic Games, The role of media in shaping the Games, Media dynamics during the event, Social media’s growing influence in sports communication and Olympic marketing, sponsorship, and TV rights.
This experience has deepened my understanding of the skills needed to market, communicate, and broadcast global sporting events. It has also solidified my passion for Sport Management, confirming my commitment to pursuing a career in this field.
A big thank you to Prof. Peña and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for this valuable learning experience!
