This Review is going to sting somewhat. It is absolutely unfair that I'm penalized so severely just because there were insufficient students to offer a peer review of my work submitted. This has happened before, and this is one of several reasons I NEITHER AGREE WITH NOR TRUST NOR APPRECIATE NOR LIKE THE PEER REVIEW COMPONENT! It's been several months now, and I remain at 63.33% complete--despite the tremendous amount of work put into this course. I sent previous notes of concern to NO RESPONSE. I've posted asking for even one more peer review to NO RESPONSE. Besides the weakness and inaccuracy of the Transcripts (another matter I’ve voiced concern about), this is the one piece that disappoints me and frustrates me the most. Please re-consider your policy regarding the Peer Review Requirements. Do Better! One Star of Five (It would have been Five Stars of Five otherwise.)

Thoroughly enjoyable course that taught me so much and gave me a framework with which to examine anti-Semitism and hate speech in general. Great stuff!

This is an interesting course which explores important issues.

Hi,

This course is very informative especially for persons who are interested in learning about historical events. I would recommend it. However, during this course I had a few assignments/comments to complete so I clicked on reset schedules/assignments and unfortunately nothing was reset. I therefore continued to finish the course by viewing the rest of videos and reading the articles as I didn't get to complete a few assignments/comments.

The course itself was enriching.

As for Coursera, I cannot recommend it, nor will I take any more courses.

The inability to communicate with one person, on the help desk side, or to get anyone to explain to you how your grade was formulated and how 26% could still grant you a certificate ?

Also, I don't think the instructors are reading the final assignments. As a result, the peer review is becoming a tool for revenge from peers who were not happy with a grade received. This is great to have three peers review my work, but I believe the final review should be done by an instructor. Allowing only to be graded by peer reviews, in the social media era, allows people to be immature, unprofessional in their grading. Also, if a holocaust denier among the students holds to their belief after such course, they will grade any factual answer as wrong. 

One very specific sad observation for me: One of the peers I reviewed was/is very likely a holocaust denier or at the very least, a holocaust "revisionist". I am wondering if she/he/they also got his/hers/their certificate at the end?

Lastly, I would love to get a response from somebody at Coursera regarding the above, but mostly, regarding my final grade. If I am truly deserving a failing grade (yet, I have a certificate, which I will not share) I would love to know where I failed, what was so wrong on my final assignment. Yet, it deemed as “passed”. How so? While I doubt I actually did such a horrible job and failed so miserably, I am open to learn more and I am looking for a positive criticism from the educators of the class, not peers, please, as I have no guarantee that the peers are the correct ones to voice a credible opinion on the subject matter.

Good Coursce but technical problems! 4 Points!

I wish I could give this course 10 stars. It was eye opening to see how many centuries antisemitism has been in the world and how it came about. The root causes are so deep, it may take another 100 years to eradicate the myths and lies about the Jewish people. Must take this course to understand why there is such a hatred of the Jewish people by some many cultures. (I Love Israel!!)

A whirlwind course through anti-Judaism and anti-Semitism. There are areas that do not connect for example Paul's letter text to anti-Judaism but overall a good course. A Christian, like myself would need to check their reactions and respect the facts presented in this course.

Very well structured course, with a varied and excellent panel of speakers. I learned a lot.

Very interesting approach. Beginning from the classic cultures, where there is not any specific antisemitism to the, nearly, current time. Reading opinions from other participants is always a good idea for learning in all social fields. Indeed the he opinions held may be shared or not, but in all the cases I found them exposed respectfully. Only critic I would make is that, perhaps, the importance of the problem, no doubt a real one, in overrated. I do understand that this is a Course from Yad Vassem, and the Shoa is a terrible experience that we must not forget, but, nowadays, I feel that other forms of social hate - racism, xenophobia, aporaphobia, Islamophobia and so and so-, are at least equally important, if not more. Thank you and congratulations.

Thanks for giving the opportunity to review your course. I am a retired a former high school and community college history teacher. I learned so very much in this course. It should be a requirement in every college humanities course, particularly in this troubling time we live when antisemitism seems to be on the rise. I saw just recently that RFK, Jr a candidate for president is blaming the Jews for Covid 19. I will not say that it true until I get more confirmation. No one can believe anything on the internet today until they get confirmation . But if so I am so sad to hear it. Some members of his family has turned against him. This blaming the Jews for anything that goes wrong in society from ancient to modern times has got to stop. I will end by saying I have one criticism of the course and that is peer grading. The concept is fine. The problem is that some students used AI for their answers and even said so. Several interpreted Hitler's prophesy speech wrong using that method. Thanks again for helping me learn so much.

For anyone not having any background on the topic of antisemitism must find this course very overwhelming.However, if one paces onself , it can be done effectively. I would suggest that even if you do not subscribe for the certificate, you answer the discussion questions. They provide much neede time to reflect on the various stages of the course material,helping to reinforce what is being taught. An excellent course, and historical fact and context are easily relatable to events which are occurring globally in our world today. A good base course on which to build for future learning on this topic.

Whilst this course was excellent, I am very disappointed with the Coursera student support and access. I also completed the Chosen Issues In Holocaust History course sometime ago and have not been able to get any feedback whatsoever.

I have peer reviewed several other students' work and as far as I can see met all required criteria. After all the effort, it is deflating to have hit a brick wall. I would carefully consider my options, prior doing further courses via this route.

This is an excellent course!! The developers have incorporated an amazingly large number of scholars from numerous backgrounds, numerous disciplines, and presented an amazingly thorough presentation on antisemitism in many different settings! I know there remains much for me to learn about antisemitism; and this course has tremendously deepened and expanded my understanding!! Great job!!!
